First Class Health is a project that aims to raise public awareness on health issues in Africa by producing informative and educational magazines. Each issue targets specific diseases that are prevalent in the country and features articles from qualified healthcare professionals. My role was to create the branding, website and magazine in both digital and print formats.
I looked at a variety of colour palettes to encapsulate Africa and its vibrant and diverse cultures, which were then applied across the magazines. I also suggested a flexible logo with interchangeable colours, aiming at keeping the magazine fresh and meaning it could evolve. Infographics added to the issues content, making the copy easy to digest. The wordmark was inspired by a 1st class stamp, visualising the concept of bringing important, trusted information to the reader.
A fully responsive website with downloadable editions of the magazine, an interactive health quiz on the current issue and access to the magazine’s archive.
